About the RFWP Immies

| The idea
of an awards presentation as a response to fans of Highlander:The
Raven, was first suggested to ravencorp* by enthusiastic Pack member
EmmyZ. The nominations ran for about a month, managed by EmmyZ and WatcherToo,
through a freevote system online.
During the nomination process, the identity of the award continued under hot debate. The award was first called a "Ravie," then the obvious parallel between EmmyZ and the tv awards of the same name suggested "Emmy Awards", the name "Raves" was suggested... Finally, the name "Immie Awards" came to the fore of the discussion, in honor of the fan moniker for immortals, and also as a near homonym for "Emmy Awards." The gold Immie Award graphic (bird with sword) was designed by Georgette Trollster, and voted on by members of ravencorp. The Pack alpha was conspicuously ambivalent about these early stages, as is her adrenaline-dependent nature. The final ballots, decided by the nomination vote, were then made available to RFWP Pack members for about a week before the awards were presented, in a form designed by Firinn. The final votes were tallied by the Pack alpha and WatcherToo. EmmyZ continued to be active on the Rysher Forum, maintaining some publicity and regular reminders throughout the nomination and voting process. The awards were presented in the format you see here, on June 10, 1999, the date that Highlander:The Raven actor contracts expired. Stepping into the character of Nick Wolfe, Paul Johansson responded to the awards presentation on the Rysher forum, demonstrating a playful camaraderie with his fans, and fans of the show we came to know him in.
